Rochdale Asia football Club’s roots trace back to 1975 when a group of local boys from Deeplish (Rochdale) decided that they needed something more competitive than their daily kick about. So they approached the local Saturday League with a view to entering a team in the league. Their application was accepted and they spent almost every spare minute they had training and getting fit for their inaugural competitive fixture. This team was named Star Athletic and they duly took their bow.
